Hydrographics Kit Instructions

 

Water Transfer Printing Instructions


1) Sand the piece

2) Clean the piece with the Silicon Remover Spray

3) Primer (use the mask included in the kit)
            - Identify the material of the piece
            - Spray the primer evenly thru the surface of the piece.
                  - Do not touch the piece until it is completely dry.

4) Spray the piece with the WTP-Base Spray (use the mask included in the hydrographics kit)
            - Apply 2 coats (wait 10min between each coating)
            - Make sure the piece is completely covered with the color.
            - Do not touch the piece until it is completely dry.

5) Prepare the Film.
            - Place the piece above the film and add 10cm for each side.
            - Tape the film for all sides (Make cuts on edges if necessary for some films)

6) Placing the Film in the water:
            - Water Temperature:  32ºC to 33ºC
            - Place the Film in the water.
            - Start placing the film from one of the corners.
            - Avoid any air bubbles.
            - Wait approx. 1min to 1min 30sec (Depends on film and temp.)

7) Activation (use the mask included in the hydrographics kit)
            - Spray the Activator evenly on the film as shown on video.

8) Immersion:
            - Dip the piece slowly in 45º to avoid air bubbles.

9) Washing the piece:
            - Wash the piece from 3 to 5 min to clean all the film residuals.
            - Do not touch the piece until it is completely dry.

10) 2k Clear coat (use the mask included in the hydrographics kit)
            - Read carefully the instructions printed on the Spray.
            - Do not touch the piece until it is completely dry (at least 8h)
